My intent for this blog was to be able to write down, hopefully for your entertainment, the areas of life that I find unique, amusing, questionable, and all around crazy. While wanting to jump right in and write about my every day life, I felt it necessary to step back and pause before making my posts.
So without further adieu....
I was driving around on the interstate the other day, minding my own business. My intent was to change lanes (from the middle lane to the outside lane), in order for me to take the next exit ramp off the interstate. As I was passing the exit prior to mine, I saw that it was safe to clear, but felt I should wait for the on ramp to end before I merge over. After passing the end and a few extra feet, I was startled to find a big, white, F-150 barrelling (and I mean barrelling) at me from the rear. With a screech, it slowed down enough to prevent from hitting me in the backend.
Apparently, this dude was trying to outrun all the traffic on the interstate by flooring his truck on the entrance ramp. Unfortunately, the DOT didn't make that ramp long enough and he had to rip up some grass and dirt, before he slammed the brakes to keep from hitting me! I mean, he ran off the road to get past traffic.
Here is the kicker that got me. As he passed me on my left side (cause apparently, I wasn't going fast enough...even though I was 5 over the speed limit, in the slow lane), he shook his head as if I was the driver who didn't know what I was doing. I know he was thinking, "Crazy woman driver!"
Now folks, I know that we all get into a hurry sometimes, but are we is such a rush that we don't need a paved road? I mean, if the shortest distance is as a crow flies, then why not drive like a crow. They do make all terrain vehicles...let's just make them bigger and then the DOT won't worry about potholes or paving, and we won't have to pay taxes to keep the roads up.
To whomever this man was, I pray that you got to your destination safely. And that all the other drivers and passengers you may have encountered got to their destinations safely.
And folks, just a little tip from me to you - when traffic occurs in your life, slow down and merge - cause trying to outrun it is impossible!
