I am stumped on Q, U, and X...but there aren't that many women's names beginning with those letters!

Stairway to Heaven....

They say that when you enter college, you learn who you really are as a person. It is a time to experiment new things (like not sleeping!), a time to meet new people (I am reminded of the punk/metal guy on the street), and learn independence (aka...laundry/cooking).

As some of my friends' kids are getting ready to enter college, it caused me to stop and ponder on my previous alma mater. It has been almost 7 years since I graduated college. As I look back on my collegiate days, I have to say that I feel I have come a long way.

I left a small town where the everything closed at sundown and went to a big city within the state. Everything about college was true, I tried new things, I met new people and I learned independence. And although I took wrong turns during those few years (and I paid for it), I came out on the other side knowing exactly who I was. But in that confusion, I found clarity. Hard to believe but I did. His name is Jesus Christ. He loves me (and you) that He sacrificed His life so that I could live forever. Not only could I live forever, but its not here on Earth! It is in heaven - where streets are paved with gold.

The truth is God created me and you to worship Him! Everything we do should bring glory to God. (Easier said than done, right?!?) At age 21, I heard God's call for my life. He has called me to ministry - I volunteer on a teen ministry team. He has given me a heart for those who have also made some bad decisions - I work with a prison ministry.

Most of all, although I don't deserve any of it - He has blessed me with a job in the field that I love (Engineering) and some amazing people in my life. If you don't know Jesus as your Savior - comment and I will respond. Life will never be the same again!

The youth team I volunteer with has set its theme for this year - "This Way Up!" How appropriate - each day is a little step leading up to heaven. There is only one way up - to get down on your knees.
